It is only illegal if achieving the aim can't be accomplished by telling the truth. Very different than what you said - were you lying to achieve an aim?

So let me get this straight - supposedly "moderate Muslims" tell me that it was the Jews that did 9-11, and you say that they are just denying Islamic responsibility, they are "instead saying these attacks are so evil that only the wicked Mossad would perpetuate them." Hmm...do you not see the problem in what your wrote? Now you have joined the pack by turning denial into Jewish hate. Yes, they did say "wicked Mossad" and they also said "vicious Jews did this" because "the Jews benefited"..."the Jews"..."the Joooos!!"...So you are one of them, too? You claim to be one of the few good Muslims, yet "wicket Mossad" flowed so well out of your keyboard. Do you know how many times I've been called "terrible Jew" just for pointing out issues with Islam? No, I'm not buying your apologetics and neither are the non-Muslim readers of this blog. Muslims benefit from the terror they create, even when it is a different Muslim that carried it out. The denial is part of Taqqiyah as a means to an end. Then, the event is used to tarnish the image of the key enemy and push an agenda, whether that be in India, US, Israel, Thailand, Aceh, Lebanon, Nigeria, Philippines, Darfur, China, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Chechnya,...

Again, I wish you were right. Unfortunately, the "fringe," as you call them, are so numerous that I get vicious, threatening emails every day. So does Pat Condell on youtube, so does Ali Sina at FaithFreedom.org, so does Robert Spencer at Jihadwatch.org, so does anybody else with a site that criticizes Islam. Are the people threatening Hirsi Ali "fringe"? Are the people wanting to kill Salman Rushdie "fringe"? Are the many people who demonstrated and killed in the name of Allah over cartoons "fringe"?

Let's analyze your "fringe" comment with real data rather than your blind, "wicked" assertions:

Your denial is worse than the direct threats because of its inherent dishonesty.

Taqiyyah is lying to protect your life. Muslims are generally forbidden from telling lies and it's considered a major sin. An annoying tactic from defamers of Islam is to speak ignorantly on behalf of Islam and misrepresent the sacred texts, and when Muslims come to the defense of their own religion, they get accused of lying. Impossible to win a debate against someone who accuses you of lying with every word. Well done.

You still didn't manage to account for Muslims, apparently everywhere you meet, not supporting these attacks and instead saying these attacks are so evil that only the wicked Mossad would perpetuate them in an attempt to blame Muslims. This should indicate two extremely obvious things that anybody without an agenda should be able to understand:

1) The Muslims you meet do not support the attacks. Notice they do not say, as you seem to think they should be saying, "These attacks are a part of our religion blah blah death to infidels." Nope, you only hear fringe terrorists like Al Qaeda saying that on their websites. Ordinary Muslims you meet don't really say that do they?

2) Terrorists like Al Qaeda are so far removed from mainstream Muslim society that ordinary Muslims you meet do not consider them the usual suspects. They're not able to immediately point and say, "ahh must be the neighborhood terrorists - they're likely to do stuff like this." No, they say, "this must be something from outside our communities." Very telling.

The article mentions Al Qaeda websites, but the verbiage does not use the attack as a success of Al Qaeda against the rest of world. It phrases it as a success of Islam against the infidels. Unfortunately, they are more correct than you for the Quran says:

You see Taqqiyah brings about the disgusting capability for Muslims to turn a tragedy that they created into a tragedy thrust upon them. The same thing happened on 9-11. I was actually traveling through Muslim countries (supposedly moderately Muslim) after 9-11 , and everybody (and I mean everybody) told me how the Mossad accomplished it. This kind of dishonesty is part of a disinformation strategy, standard for Islam and not limited to Pakistani tv hosts.
